Susan Holman McShane is a fundraising professional and business strategist with over 40 years of experience in higher education, finance, and business development.
At the University of Virginia, Susan served as Director of Development to advance the institution’s mission and increase access and affordability for students. Susan remains actively involved with the University of Virginia’s admissions and scholarship programs.
Prior to her tenure at UVA, Susan held leadership positions in the corporate sector, including roles at Microsoft, Oracle, Xerox and GE Capital. She led high-performing teams to expand market presence and drive exponential growth.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Susan is a dedicated volunteer and community leader. She is the Senior Warden of Grace Episcopal Church in Keswick, Virginia, where she has served on the Vestry, chaired the Stewardship Committee, and contributed to financial and strategic planning efforts. She is certified as a Stephen Ministry Leader and Instructor.
Susan holds a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA in Finance from The George Washington University. A lifelong supporter of education and philanthropy, she brings a wealth of expertise, strategic vision, and unwavering dedication to the boards and organizations she serves.
